Are you (almost) finished with your degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics and ready for the next step? As a junior tax advisor within our international advisory practice, you will immediately dive into complex, cross-border issues. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, receive intensive guidance, and be involved in challenging client projects from day one. This will allow you to quickly develop into a valuable sparring partner for entrepreneurs with international ambitions. 

Your role 

As a junior tax advisor, you will be fully integrated into the team and introduced to all aspects of the international advisory practice. You will learn the profession by doing, by sparring with colleagues, and by immersing yourself in international structures, reorganizations, and investment issues. You will work for medium-sized (family) businesses that operate across borders and develop a broad tax base that will benefit you throughout your career. 

In addition, at Newtone we are building a China Desk, focused on supporting Chinese companies in the Netherlands and Dutch companies with activities in China. Do you speak Chinese (Mandarin)? Then that is a great advantage and you can contribute to this growing practice within our firm.

What will you be doing? 

• Preparing tax advice on international structures, restructurings, and cross-border investments. 
• Translating laws and regulations into practical solutions that really help clients move forward. 
• Working with colleagues from other disciplines, such as Legal and M&A, to provide integrated advice. 
• Building and maintaining client relationships: you will learn to recognize their needs and respond to them.
• Following tax developments and actively applying them in practice.
• Optional: participating in activities within the China Desk, if you speak the language or have an affinity with the Chinese market.

What you need 

• A university degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics, (almost) completed. 
• Up to approximately 3 years of relevant work experience, for example as a working student or junior at a firm. 
• An inquisitive, analytical, and accurate work attitude. 
• You dare to ask questions, like to contribute ideas, and work well with others. 
• Strong communication skills, both in Dutch and English. 
• The ambition to develop into a versatile tax advisor with an international focus. 
• Speaking Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong advantage, given our growing China Desk.
